Workers at a Putnam County strip mall that employed the suspect in a grisly Glen Cove murder say they are shocked at the gruesome details of the crime.
Evan Marshall, 31, is accused of dismembering 57-year-old retired teacher Denise Fox last week. Police say the head of the victim was found in the trunk of Marshall?s car and the rest of her body in several trash bins in his mother?s basement. Employees at a Rockaway Bedding where Marshall worked in Carmel?s Putnam Plaza describe him as quiet and strange, but not murderous.
Workers at a liquor store in the strip mall say Marshall was randomly seen picking up cigarette butts off the pavement. Employees at a Rite Aid say Marshall was a frequent customer. One clerk says she got into scraps with Marshall on more than one occasion because he didn?t have enough money to buy cigarettes.
