The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down today in North Great River and traveled to Ronkonkoma.
Officials say the tornado was rated on the Enhanced Fujita Scale as an EF-0 tornado with up to 85 mph winds.
The tornado, along with accompanying storms, caused numerous uprooted trees, downed power lines as well as damage to homes and cars.
