The city has completely redesigned the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Silver Street in an effort to make it safer for drivers and pedestrians.
City officials unveiled the upgraded intersection Wednesday. Improvements include new lights, pedestrian islands and lane dividers.
Officials say it's all part of the larger Vision Zero program.
Department of Transportation officials say another project to improve the intersection at Westchester and Jackson avenues will begin later this year.
