A charity run by a Long Island philanthropist helped send 30 children on a holiday shopping spree in Kmart.

The disadvantaged children were selected by their schools to receive a gift card from philanthropist Dhonna Goodale so they and their siblings could select some toys and winter necessities.

Goodale says she believes that it is important to use this time of the year to make the less fortunate happy, even if it's just for one day.

Goodale is also an actress and producer, and the profits from her production company helps fund the program every year.
