A camp for people with special needs is getting a new state-of-the-art pool after not having one for several years.
Campers, parents and staffers went to Center Moriches Thursday to celebrate the groundbreaking on the new pool at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck.
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck executive director Kristin Cafiero says the pool has no stairs so, people can walk without any issue. It will be 4 1/2 feet deep for campers of all skill levels.
The new pool costs around $1.2 million. The camp has gotten several donations from the community and has been holding fundraisers to help pay for the addition.
