CDC: Flu-related deaths among children doubled since last year
New data from the CDC found the flu season hit especially hard for children -- doubling the amount of deaths since last year.
The CDC now reports more than 100 pediatric deaths from the flu.
Doctors tell News 12 many factors played a part. One being last year's flu season was milder, many were still wearing masks, and fewer people got their flu shot this year.
Kids vaccinated against the flu are 68% less likely to require hospitalization, according to the CDC.
Doctors say it’s not too late to get your child vaccinated if they haven't been already.
