A Deer Park man says his 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat was stolen from his West 10th Street driveway Sunday night - and the theft was captured on his Ring camera.
Philip Rine told News 12 that when he opened his Ring app around 10:45 p.m., he saw the theft in progress.
The video shows one person hopping into the driver’s seat, while another pushes the car down the driveway.
A white vehicle waits in the street and then pushes the stolen vehicle forward.
Rine said he “started yelling at them to leave the car, leave the car” but says “they didn’t even flinch.”
The next day, on Monday, he says he got a phone call from a Howard Beach woman who described the car and asked if it was his.
He said it was.
She said around midnight she saw the car and a white SUV across the street from her Queens home.
She said items were being thrown out of the car, and Rine thinks she was able to get his number via one of his business cards left on the ground.
The car was driven away and its location remains a mystery.
Suffolk police confirm they are investigating this incident.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
