Caught on camera: Brutal attack at Huntington Station Burger King
A brutal attack was caught on camera last month outside the Burger King on New York Avenue in Huntington Station.
In the video, six young men can be seen punching and kicking the victim, who is lying on the ground. At one point, an attacker jumps and stomps his feet into the victim's head.
The person who was attacked suffered non-life threatening injures, though his exact condition is not known. Police say a 16-year-old was arrested in connection to the beating.
The incident, caught on cellphone video, occurred on Jan. 9. It was the same day and place where three Huntington High School students, who are accused members of MS-13, allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old male in the back. The teenager who was stabbed also survived.
Police have not said if the two encounters are related and have stepped up patrols in the area. They tell News 12 no similar incidents have been reported since.
The incident happened close to the headquarters of a youth agency, which has been working to help troubled children in the area for decades. Director of Tri Community Youth Agency Debbie Rimler says the stabbing and the brutal beating were both horrifying.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
