The outbreak of the mumps in Long Beach has now led to at least one case at an upstate university.
A mumps case at SUNY Oswego is being linked to the Long Beach outbreak. In addition, another case at SUNY Plattsburgh is being investigated.
The New York State Health Department is now warning students at all New York universities to be vaccinated and avoid sharing drinks and food.
More than 45 mumps cases have been reported here on Long Island since June.
