Supporters, friends and family of John White are calling for the father of the teen he killed to be charged for making a threat against White?s son.
White was released from jail Thursday night after raising $200,000 bond. He is free while his lawyers appeal his manslaughter conviction for killing 17-year-old Daniel Cicciaro in 2006.
Cicciaro?s father, Daniel Cicciaro Sr., has come under fire for comments he made in reaction to the stay of sentence ruling. "Nice message it sends to society that as long as you're black and there's a problem at the end of your driveway, you can grab an illegal handgun and shoot someone in the face and get away with it," Cicciaro said. "Well, let's see what happens when Aaron White gets shot and see how the laws are."
Cicciaro told News 12 Long Island he was very angry at the time he uttered the remarks. He says his comments were taken out of context and were in no way a threat to the White family.
However, the Whites say they are living in fear and have police stationed at their Miller Place home. The family requested an investigation by Southampton police to possibly have Cicciaro arrested for alleged harassment.
