A Hempstead cafe worker is accused of stabbing a man with a kitchen knife.
Elsa Marina Saravia-Martinez, of Hempstead, is facing attempted murder charges.
Police say she stabbed a man inside the Miranda's River Café on Fulton Avenue in Hempstead at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim had to undergo surgery and is now in stable condition.
It marks the latest in a string of violent incidents over the past week in Hempstead. Two men were fatally shot over the weekend, and another man was shot and killed last week as he drove his car.
Hempstead Village Police Chief Michael McGowan is urging witnesses to come forward to help officers make arrests in the shooting cases.
