Police are searching for two men following the stabbing of a 45-year-old livery cab driver that took place just after 11 p.m. Sunday night in the Bronx.
Vickie Calendar and her husband say they heard a loud crash and saw a cab hit a white truck on Hering Avenue. The husband said he ran outside and saw a driver stumble out of the cab, claiming someone had tried to rob and kill him. The driver lifted his shirt to reveal stab wounds in his chest and stomach.
The resident immediately called his wife Vickie Calendar, an EMT, who used her husband's shirt to keep pressure on the driver's wounds until an ambulance arrived. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
Calendar's husband caught a glimpse of two men running from the cab toward Eastchester Gardens Projects. He told police one of the men was wearing jeans, a black shirt and red sneakers. The other, he said, wore white sneakers.
