The Bronx is buzzing with activity ahead of Pope Benedict XVI's New York City visit.
The pope will visit the area and hold a free Mass at the stadium during April. Parishioners at nearby St. Angela Merici Church hope to get tickets for the Mass.
"I can't tell you how excided I am to have the pope come to the Bronx," said Velva Vell. "We welcome him here, we need him here."
Many of the faithful believe the pope's visit will help revive Catholicism in the borough.
The church is awaiting word on whether it will participate in the Yankee Stadium Mass. Pope Benedict will also visit the United Nations and Ground Zero.
