With this latest winter storm coming on the eve of Super Bowl Sunday, local businesses are preparing for a potential impact on their bottom line.

At Stereo Garden in Patchogue, co-owner Paula Navarro says they can always count on a big crowd for its annual viewing party.

“They say you can't count your chickens before they're hatched – however, we normally count on this night," he said.

But with the storm expected to keep going into the early morning hours, Brookhaven Superintendent of Highways Dan Losquadro says game day will feel some effects.

"It takes a number of hours after those flakes stop falling to get everything completely cleared back, and get those roads salted, so understand that is a process, it does take time," he said. "We have a very good system that we've laid out over the years."

Losquadro expects things to be clear by the time people will be heading out.

Studio Garden isn't taking any chances.

"We depend on people coming out and coming to the business, so with bad weather, we already know what to kind of expect," said Navarro.

With that in mind, they made the decision on Friday to offer free admission to their Super Bowl viewing party in hopes of getting as many people to come out as possible.

"It's the best business decision we can make," Navarro explained. "We have a lot of overhead - lighting, staff, but we have to do the best we can, not everything is a win-win."
