The Town of Brookhaven says plans for a Suffolk OTB gambling parlor in Medford are incomplete.
Officials say the rejected plans lacked information on sanitary systems, signage and landscaping.
Suffolk OTB has proposed building a 96,000-square-foot video lottery terminal casino south of the Long Island Expressway, between Route 112 and Horseblock Road.
Anthony Pancella, from Suffolk OTB, says the town misinterpreted its request for feedback as an incomplete plan, but promises a finished proposal is in the works.
"We didn't even send signed plans. They weren't sealed plans, so it wasn't final," says Pancella. "We wanted to get some feedback, so we could speed this process along and get the approvals we need."
MaryAnn Johnson, from the Affiliated Brookhaven Civic Organizations, stands firmly opposed to the proposed gambling parlor.
"We are willing to spend thousands of dollars to see to it that you go away," she told OTB officials recently.
Despite the opposition, Suffolk OTB says it will submit its final plan for the facility soon.
