The Bronx community is finally going to see the money from the new Yankee Stadium project it has been promised.
Under the Community Benefits Agreement, the Yankees are giving $800,000 a year to community organizations as well as free game tickets and sports gear for children.
Some say the foundation in charge of allocating the funds has been dragging its feet. The New Yankee Stadium Foundation blames IRS red tape for the wait.
The New Yankee Stadium Foundation has already reached out to Bronx little leagues to start giving away money for new equipment. It will also give $50,000 to the Bronx CUNY scholarship fund.
