As Bronx students get ready to leave school for the summer, the Police Athlete League (PAL) is gearing up for its day camp season.
Camp organizers say the seven-week program offers Bronx kids ages 6 to 13 a structured way to spend their summer. Kids enrolled in the camp play sports, do arts and crafts and take field trips. Counselors at the PAL camp also say it gives working parents the peace of mind their children are safe.
The PAL summer camp takes place Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It also has extended hours for working parents.
