The NYPD confirms a Bronx police inspector accused of sexually assaulting another officer has been stripped of his badge and gun.
Police say Inspector Jeremy Scheublin was placed on modified duty as of Tuesday. An internal NYPD memo obtained by News 12 also confirms the move.
Scheublin and the city are currently being sued by a female officer who alleges he assaulted her inside the 46th Precinct on New Year’s Day 2025, according to the civil lawsuit.
According to the suit, the officer says her commanding officer called her into his office, grabbed her, threw her onto a couch, tried to kiss her and attempted to remove her gun belt. The filing states she fought him off and escaped after kicking him in the groin.
Court filings also claim the NYPD was aware of the incident for more than a year and allege Scheublin retaliated against the officer, made threats and attempted to bribe her to stay quiet.
The NYPD told News 12 it is working with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office to investigate the allegations.
