Some East Meadow residents spent Memorial Day weekend cleaning up after vandals who broke out car windows.
"I was lying in bed and heard something shatter. I ran outside. We didn't see anything. I thought I was dreaming," Rich Carpozo, who heard a commotion overnight, said.
But the victims woke Sunday to realize it wasn't a dream. Broken glass spilled out onto the driveways of four homes on Clear Meadow Drive. Residents believe a BB or pellet gun was used.
Paul Courtney paid $150 to replace his car window after a similar vandalism incident a few weeks earlier. "I guess they have nothing better to do. I guess they have never been victims themselves of something like this. If they were, they wouldn't do this," a frustrated Courtney said.
