State police say a woman was hospitalized when someone threw a brick at the car she was riding in on the Meadowbrook Parkway in Uniondale.
The brick was thrown from a pedestrian footbridge just south of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday. It struck a 1996 BMW that was traveling north.
Police say the brick smashed through the car's windshield and struck the driver, a 21-year-old Island Park man. He sustained bruising to the shoulder, but declined medical attention.
A passenger in the front seat, a 22-year-old West Hempstead woman, suffered an injury to her eye and brusing to her mouth from the brick. She was treated and released from Nassau University Medical Center.
No arrests have been made.
Police say the perpetrator or perpetrators may have been throwing items at other cars as well.
