A Queens man is accused of posing as a police officer and writing phony checks to buy jewelry in Nassau County.

Police say Brian Harrington, 31, told the owner of Rafael's Jewelry in Hewlett that he forgot his identification, but did present the victim with a badge and gun holster.

He then proceeded to write the check for a gold chain worth nearly $3,000.

Harrington allegedly tried the same stunt at the Tri-County Flea Market in Levittown last month.
