2 Long Island varsity soccer teams win state championships

The Brentwood High School boys and the Ward Melville High School girls both took home hardware.

The Brentwood High School boys varsity soccer team and the Ward Melville girls varsity soccer team won big this weekend. Both teams won the state championships.
The Brentwood boys returned home Sunday night to a big crowd of supporters after beating Baldwinsville for the title.
This is the fifth state title for the team and the first since 2019.
The girls from Ward Melville repeated as state champions, beating Monroe-Woodbury in the title game.
