A Brentwood boy spent his Sunday serving up cold lemonade and salty snacks at a stand in front of his home, and it was all for a very good cause.
Oliver Rivadeneyra, 6, set up "Oliver's Lemonade Stand" in front of his home to help sick children. "This is for people that have cancer in St. Jude, so I'm trying to help them out," he explained.
Oliver sold lemonade, limeade, and goodies like popcorn and pretzels. All the profits will go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
"He has a huge heart," says Oliver's mother, Nancy Merino. "He's very creative and very dedicated to what he sets his mind to."
At the start of the day, Oliver said, "I'm hoping that this lemonade stand is going to go 100 percent well." By the day's end, his hopes had come true: he went through seven gallons of lemonade, countless bags of snacks, and raised more than $650.
The East Brentwood Fire Department even stopped by for some refreshments.
