More than 65,000 people participated in the walk last year, raising more than $2.5 million for the cause.
“We do so much on a local level - we provide free wigs, free rides to and from treatment and individual support to all the survivors and their families when they reach out to us,” says Brittany Lawton, of the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society says that more than 17,000 New Yorkers will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
