A West Islip middle school student and his family are suing the school district because they say it did nothing after the boy was repeatedly bullied at school.
Patrick Kohlmann says he?s been pushed and verbally assaulted by students at Udall Road Middle School. His mother says he?s had a rock thrown at his head and suffered a concussion.
Elizabeth Kohlmann says she resorted to calling police because the district did nothing to stop the bullying.
West Islip School District spokeswoman Nancy Lenz says the district is working with police and has anti-bullying programs in the schools.
Kohlmann posted an anti-bullying video on YouTube and says he has gotten a great response. However, when he tried to show it at a district PTA meeting, he says he was told it was too graphic.
The school district is not commenting on the case because of the ongoing litigation.
