? As hurricane season approaches, the borough president and emergency management officials are warning Bronx residents to prepare for the threat of a storm.
Although New York City has not experienced a hurricane in more than 50 years, scientists predict a storm will hit the area within the next five decades. The Office of Emergency Management urges Bronx residents to prepare a ?go bag.? The ?go bag? should include important documents, keys, credit cards and cash. The bag should also have a flashlight, battery-operated radio, medications, a first-aid kit and non-perishable food.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. urges homeowners to take warnings seriously and get the word out.
