Hempstead's Prospect School that was badly damaged by lightning and fire will not open until March.
School officials now say it might take until mid-March to finish all the repairs.
The school houses up to 600 kindergartners and pre-kindergarteners
Now, the district is trying to figure out where the students will go when classes resume on September 5.
