For the first time, News 12 has been provided with the original blueprints of Rex Heuermann’s house - plans drawn up in 1955.
Attorney Robert Macedoino, who represents Asa Ellerup, has been inside the Heuermann home several times, and says the layout has not changed at all when compared to those documents.
The house on First Avenue was originally searched last July, and then in a second search in May, investigators focused primarily on the basement
The blueprints obtained also provide a map as to where in the home many key pieces of evidence were taken from.
Items removed include paneling, shelving and the work bench.
Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney says Heuermann created a detailed manifesto, apparently writing, “use push pins to hang drop cloths from ceiling.”
Tierney says it is possible Heuermann may have committed some of the alleged murders in his residence.
“It appears from the bail application that they are theorizing that the room right there may or may not have been where they were pinning up tarps and maybe dismembering parts of victims," said Macedonio.
