A Blue Point school crossing guard arrested for allegedly driving drunk after her shift ended has also been charged in a hit-and-run.

Officials say Joanne Griffiths, 58, is a crossing guard at Blue Point Elementary School.

Police say a driver saw Griffiths driving recklessly Wednesday along Montauk Highway and later on Waverly Avenue.

The driver called 911 and followed Griffiths into a Waldbaum's parking lot on the Sunrise Highway South Service Road in Patchogue.

That is where cops say they arrested her, 20 minutes after her shift ended with her uniform and ID still in the car.

Police say Griffiths has also been charged in a hit-and-run accident that took place in Blue Point on Tuesday, a day before her DWI arrest. No one was hurt, but a parked car was damaged in the crash.

Griffiths, a 15-year veteran of the Suffolk County Police Department, is free on $10,000 bail.
