Slick roads are being blamed for several accidents Thursday across Long Island.Many roads on the Island that were filled with slush froze overnight and are now covered with black ice. Authorities say one accident caused by the slick road conditions happened overnight on Bread and Cheese Hollow Road in Northport. According to police, the driver of an SUV lost control of the vehicle and went into a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Motorists are advised to take their foot off the gas pedal if they feel their vehicle starting to slide on black ice.
