A man arrived on Long Island today after walking 3,000 miles for a cause close to his heart.
BJ Timoner walked cross-country to raise money to fight pancreatic cancer. This was his second journey across the United States.
So far, Timoner has raised $50,000 for the Lustgarden Foundation, the largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic research. He raises money for the cause because he lost his father to the disease when he was 3.
Timoner says he isn't sure when his next walk will be. He says he will make plans when the weather cools down.
Cablevision, the parent company of News 12, helped found the Lustgarten Foundation in 1998 after company executive Marc Lustgarten was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
