A Long Island athlete isn't letting a birth defect stop him from shooting hoops.
Robert Rodriguez, a member of the AMP1 basketball team, has worn a prosthesis most of his life due to a birth defect.
The married father of a 1-year-old holds two jobs, but he says that's what makes laying up shots even more worthwhile.
"I'm an amputee but I could do what a normal person could," he says. "So I decided to push myself."
AMP1 is a national basketball team of amputees. Rodriguez says the team's message is to never give up.
