A bicyclist has died and four other people were injured during a crash near the Apollo Theater Sunday night in Harlem.
Police say that a red Hyundai Tucson driven by a 49-year-old man was traveling down West 125th Street and struck two bicyclists.
The driver then continued and struck a Toyota Rav4. He also struck a Lexus with two people inside, a police cruiser and a tractor trailer. All three vehicles were parked.
EMS took one of the bicyclists, a 28-year-old man, to Mt. Sinai-Morningside in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.
The other bicyclist was taken to NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem and is also in critical condition.
The driver of the Rav4 and the occupants of the Lexus are expected to be OK.
The driver of the Hyundai was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
