3ds agoAfter nearly two decades, the contaminated Bethpage ballfield is finally being cleaned up.
The remediation at Bethpage Community Park is expected to take about one year to complete.
The ballfield was shut down in 2002 after it was discovered that the land donated by Northrop Grumman was a toxic dumping ground.
Thermal equipment is being used to target two types of contaminants found under the ballfield.
