Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is giving a COVID-19 update.
BRIEFING NOTES:
- Suffolk began program distributing masks by visiting a West Babylon Stop & Shop. 
- Bellone says they may have identified part of solution to providing short-term property tax relief. Sent letter to secretary of treasury, Rep. Lee Zeldin has been in contact, which lead to call with Steve Mnuchin. 'Hopeful' some good news will come out of it.
- Over 1,000 new cases - 'higher than we had seen' in recent days.
- Death toll in Suffolk is up to 993.
- Decrease by 22 in overall hospitalizations.
- 803 available hospital beds across county.
- 132 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals.
- Bellone announces former county attorney Dennis Cohen will return to that position, say it is critical to fill that role during pandemic. 
- Bellone mourns the loss of auxiliary police officer who was laid to rest Friday, as well as LIRR employee who passed.
