Sunny and warm Thursday; storms expected by Friday

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says it will be sunny Thursday, but expect some showers and storms on Friday.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY: South Shore of Nassau County from 8PM to Midnight. Minor flooding along the shoreline and low lying areas expected at high tide.
AIR QUALITY: There could be some haze around Thursday from wildfire haze. At the surface air quality is expected to remain good.
WEATHER TO WATCH: Friday is highlighted on the 10-day. Most of the day will be dry with the chance for an isolated shower. A front passes in the evening with the chance for showers and storms. Right now the time frame is about 7 p.m. to midnight.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows near 62. South wind 5 mph.
THURSDAY: Sun and clouds. Turning breezy and more humid late in the day. Highs near 80. Partly cloudy and breezy at night with lows near 68. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny. Good chance for showers and storms by the evening. Some storms could become strong to severe. Highs near 80. Showers and storms end at night with lows near 68.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny in the morning followed by increasing sunshine. Nice with highs near 83. Lows near 67.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 82. Lows near 64.
MONDAY: Partly sunny with the chance for showers and storms, mostly during the afternoon. Highs near 81. Lows near 70.
