A Bayport man has plead guilty to sending hate-filled and threatening letters to LGBTQ+ and affiliated groups.
Robert Fehring admitted to sending out letters to groups like the Sayville Chamber of Commerce.
"I was very glad he admitted guilt," says Eileen Tiznar, president of the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce
Tiznar was one of the victims targeted by Fehring.
She says the letters warned her to stop putting up rainbow flags celebrating gay pride for local parades.
"He would threaten that if I did it again, that I would regret it," Tiznar says.
The letters spoke against groups like gays, lesbians, Black people, and Democrats.
The FBI raided Fehring's home and recovered letters, two loaded shotguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
The letters talked about shooting people in the back of the head.
Fehring is out of prison with an ankle monitor.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 17.
Tiznar says she'll be there to read an impact statement.
