A Bayport man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl he met online.
Twenty-year-old Zachary Rapoza was arrested at the Pinelawn train station Monday. According to police, he met the West Islip teen on the Web site MySpace.
News 12 Long Island spoke exclusively with Rapoza's mother. She says the girl lied to her son, who was about to be inducted into the Bayport-Blue Point Fire Department this weekend, and told him she was 20 years old.
"Now, because this girl lied and because he made a stupid mistake?now his life could be ruined," she said.
