A Bay Shore man was charged in connection with the shooting of a woman and a 13-year-old boy.
Douglas Contreras, 28, is accused of shooting a 13-year-old boy in Brentwood.
He also allegedly shot a woman in car on the Southern State Parkway less than 48 hours after the teen was shot.
The prosecutor handling the case said the bullet went into and out of her arm, leaving a large scar.

Contreras's attorney said his client, a new father with ties to the community, maintains his innocence.
