Malls across Long Island were bustling with Black Friday bargain hunters who were looking to scoop up deals and gifts.
News 12 Long Island was at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City where shoppers were flooding the stores.
According to a nationwide survey from Bankrate.com, just 23 percent of adults were expected to hit the stores Friday due to extended discounts throughout the holiday season.
While online shoppers are looking forward to Cyber Monday for their holiday shopping, others told News 12 that they prefer the instore experience.
Experts say brick-and-mortar stores are trying to appeal to in-person shoppers by offering incentives to come out. Some of the perks are free valet parking and Santa Claus impersonators.
