An armed robber hid his face with plastic grocery bags as he robbed three Hicksville-area gas stations over the span of a couple hours, Nassau police said Thursday.
Authorities said the first robbery occurred before midnight Wednesday on Old Country Road. The second and third holdups took place on South Oyster Bay Road and Broadway, respectively.
In each incident, the disguised man, described as a white male between the ages of 20 and 24, held up a gun and uttered simple phrases like "give me the money," police said. The robber wore a white bag at the first two stations before switching to a yellow one.
In the latter two robberies, the attendants managed to hold on to the money and call 911. Even though his employee's actions saved him some cash, a co-owner of one of the stations said he trains all his workers to hand over the money in those situations.
Anyone with information on the robber is asked to contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
