News 12 Long Island has learned families are scrambling due to reports of nationwide baby formula shortages.
Retailers are struggling to keep shelves stocked.
Market research firm IRI says that infant formula inventories at stores in mid-January were down 17% from what they were in February of 2020.
Walgreens alerted customers of their shortages, while CVS is working with national brand baby formula vendors to address the issue.
