Authorities say the Coast Guard has called off the search for a missing boater off Northport Harbor in Huntington, but Suffolk police continued to patrol the area Sunday.
Authorities scoured the waters near Crescent Beach Saturday looking for 50-year-old Christopher Calma.
According to authorities, Calma rented a 22-foot boat Saturday morning and went out with his 14-year-old son, but fell overboard and went missing around 9:30 a.m.
“I really feel bad for the son, that's the horrible part of this. I went for a walk, I had my eye out, but I didn't see anything,” says Jesse Mackey, of Huntington.
Police say Calma was not wearing a life jacket.
