Authorities: 3 injured after police pursuit leads to crash in Hempstead

The Homicide Squad says a Hempstead police officer was pursuing a car with their lights and sirens activated around 2 p.m. when the police car hit a Honda traveling northbound on James LL Burrell Avenue.

Authorities say three people were injured in a crash involving a police car Saturday afternoon in Hempstead.
The Homicide Squad says a Hempstead police officer was pursuing a car with their lights and sirens activated around 2 p.m. when the police car hit a Honda traveling northbound on James LL Burrell Avenue.
The collision caused both the driver and passenger of the Honda to be ejected and the officer's vehicle to overturn.
All three people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital. The officer was treated for minor injuries and released.
The condition of the women in the Honda is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
