The Laundrie family attorney, Steven Bertolino, called the Petito lawsuit "baseless and frivolous."
Petito's family sued the Laundries, alleging their son told them he murdered Gabby Petito. They accuse the Laundries of trying to get their son out of the country.
The disappearance of Blue Point's Gabby Petito made national headlines in fall 2021.
Her remains were found in Wyoming in September a week after she was reported missing.
Laundrie's remains were found a month later at a Florida nature reserve.
