Atlantic League opening day set for May 28 with intention of full season
The Ducks and the Atlantic League will be back this season on May 28.
The league announced the date for opening day while saying they are still working on season details such as COVID-19 safety protocols.
“Our priority is protecting public welfare, and we still have much to do,” ALPB President Rick White said in a statement. “The league is finalizing the admission of new teams, conducting player signings, and working with our Major League Baseball partners on test initiatives for the ’21 campaign."
The statement went on to say that the league felt it was "critical" to announce its intention for a full season.
The Ducks were champions of the ALPB last time it played in 2019. The league is due to have a very different look, with the Sugar Land Skeeters and Somerset Patriots moving to become minor league affiliates of the Astros and Yankees.
