A U.S. Army sergeant has admitted to abandoning his unit.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s guilty plea comes three years after the Obama administration secured his release from the Taliban.
Sgt. Bergdahl faced a judge at Fort Bragg in North Carolina today.
As News 12 has reported, Bergdahl left his unit in Afghanistan in 2009 and was captured and held prisoner by the Taliban for five years.
Bergdahl was released in 2014 in a controversial prisoner swap that freed five terrorists.
There is no word if Bergdahl has a deal with prosecutors, but he is facing life in prison.
