Long Island restaurants are teaming up to stop drinking and driving.
Officials from Nassau and Suffolk are expected to announce the creation of Long Island Restaurants Against Drunk Driving on Monday, Dec. 29.
The program will encourage restaurant owners to offer free non-alcoholic beverages to designated drivers and pay for cab fare for patrons who register more than the legal limit of .08 on a Breathalyzer.
