This morning a major indicator of the United States economic recovery from the coronavirus was released - the August jobs report.
It appears the United States has taken another step toward recovery with the report showing the U.S. added about 1.4 million new jobs last month. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 8.4%, according to the Labor Department.
However, it looks like companies are rehiring workers at a slower pace compared to earlier in the summer.
There is no industry probably feeling that more on Long Island than the movie theater industry. The industry is responsible for employing about 10,000 jobs in the state.
Currently, there is no date in sight for them to go back to work.
Theaters say they've been preparing by coming up with plans that include reducing capacity, improving air filters and staggering show times to avoid crowding.
Theater owners say just they want a start date so they can start marketing and have it be a successful reopening.
