The Amityville Union Free School District is suing the State Board of Regents in a fight to keep its "warriors" nickname.
The district is challenging New York's ban on Native American mascots, names and imagery.
They argue it already rebranded its name in 2018 and replaced any Native American imagery with the letter "A" for Amityville.
The school says it cost them around $1 million and changing it again would be a waste of taxpayer money.
